It’s another edition of Casual Friday here on Alpha Male FTS and you’re going to have to excuse me if I don’t make much sense. You see, like every fitness professional worth is salt I believe in a proper warm up for every major event. Some may call it rehearsal, but it’s all the same thing. You never go into something important without first doing a dry run or getting familiar with the event. Escalating Density Training: Part Duex

The last post about escalating density training went into a little bit of background about what it’s all about and who created it. That’s all good and fun, except that it doesn’t tell you how to incorporate it into your training.

Well, have no fear because that’s EXACTLY what I’m about to do.

Think back to your last workout. Maybe it was 10 minutes ago, maybe it was yesterday…or maybe it was a few years ago (you slacker)! No matter when it was there was a rhythm and routine that you went through. Routines are a dime a dozen and something new is getting pushed out every week. All of these new fitness classes and “RageSanity120X” workout at home DVDs are perfect examples. Some of these are decent quality and will get you results. Sadly, most are just marketing tools for a product that hasn’t had much thought put into except that it’s trying to position its self as the next hot thing. [Read more…]

The foundation of any complete diet plan should be lean, animal-based protein foods and vegetables, not “zero carb pizza” or “low calorie cookies” or any other BS food that makes you feel like you’re doing something good for yourself.

Animals and plants provide us with the essential nutrients and micronutrients we need, in the right amounts and ratios that Mother Nature intended. They were the basis of the diets we evolved from. It makes sense that they should be the foundation of a modern diet geared towards optimizing health and improving body composition.

Escalating Density Training: An Introduction

Alright, today we have a quick and dirty introduction to Escalating Density Training. In case you haven’t figured it out Escalating Density Training is an approach to training. Even more than just that, it’s literally the only one that is set up the way it is which makes it incredibly unique but extremely effective.

I’ve messed around with a few bastardized versions of Escalating Density Training before and seen incredible results in fat loss and overall motivation to train. Being able to walk into a training session knowing exactly what weight you’re going to use, exactly how long it will take or exactly how many reps you need to do to be considered done allows you to focus on the task at hand and not worry about any of the extra bullshit that tags along in life.
